Accelerating ahead with Autologic
We’re lucky at ISIS to get the opportunity to work with dynamic and entrepreneurial businesses. A great example is our recent investment in Autologic Diagnostics, which has more than doubled sales in the last two years. We all know that we’re in challenging economic times, and that makes it all the more inspiring to get involved in UK SME success stories like this.
Autologic has many of the characteristics we look for when identifying great businesses to invest in:
- an attractive market niche with growing demand for diagnostic equipment as a result of the increasing technological complexity of cars
- clear competitive advantages as Autologic is unique in offering independent workshops a specialist support service and a product with such technical depth
- a strong platform for growth with clear opportunities to expand further by geography, channel to market, product range and vehicle brand coverage
- a strong and ambitious management team which has driven the business forward through their complementary skills and are passionate and committed
- excellent financial metrics with strong margins and cashflow and opportunities for further value creation
So it ticked our boxes, but why did the management team believe that ISIS was the right investment partner?
Despite trade interest, a private equity solution was preferred by the management team as it rewarded them now for their success to date and still gave them the opportunity and incentives to continue to grow the business.
