Title: Investor Relations Director

I look after all the institutional investors in our funds and I also raise new funds for the ISIS team to invest. What I love is that I get to work with the entire ISIS team - new investment, portfolio, origination and finance - to provide investors with the information they need. 2012 is a fundraising year for me, so it will be really busy, but I love the challenge of building new relationships with prospective investors and no two days are ever the same.

I grew up in Scotland and studied for an MA in Business Studies and Languages at Edinburgh University (and in Spain) before coming south to work for Barclays Bank. In 1995 I did a private equity secondment and knew it was what I wanted to do! I spent 6 years doing deals and joined ISIS in 2001. When ISIS became independent in 2005, my natural preference to deal with people over numbers led me to take on the Investor Relations role.

I feel very lucky to work with such a varied but smart and complementary bunch of people. That's a real privilege.

About me
Little known fact: Despite being quite small height wise, I played volleyball for Scottish Universities (as the setter) in the late 80s competing internationally (with a very tall team!). Also my paternal grandparents ran one of the very first chains of pawnbrokers in Scotland in the early 1900's. They made a lot of money, then lost it all in government war bonds in the 1st World War!  

Most likely to say?
"Anyone for tea?" I am a big tea drinker and my ability to quaff copious cups of tea per day is a standing joke in the office.

Outside of work I…am principally a glorified taxi service for my children.. but I have a desire to become a good golfer. I play tennis as well.

Perfect Day:
Probably relaxing, reading or having a really competitive game of bat + ball by the waters edge, on a beautiful sandy beach in Portugal.
