My role is to find great businesses, run by talented people who are in need of an experienced and supportive investment partner for the next part of their journey. It’s the best job in the world as I get to meet many entrepreneurial businesses and the interesting teams that run them as I seek to find the next great ISIS investment. I also get to work with the teams that we have already invested in, to help them deliver on the potential of their exciting businesses.

I am an engineering graduate and unusually for someone in private equity, I worked in industry for ten years in general management roles with Rio Tinto and Electrocomponents. After a spell in Consulting with KPMG I moved into private equity in 2000, before joining ISIS in 2002. I joined ISIS to open up a new office in Manchester, looking to recruit a team and build a presence in the North – when we look back now we are delighted with what we have created and the success that we have been able to deliver.

I have so many great memories, it’s hard to choose just one! The Script Switch journey was pretty amazing – from a small business in serviced offices in Warwick to a corporate business which we were able to sell to United Health, creating many wealthy management shareholders and providing great returns for ISIS.

Little known fact: I am a Level 2 Rugby Coach and when not working spend most of my time in the mud, trying to help junior players reach their potential on the pitch.

My perfect day:
Would be walking on a clear autumn day in The Lakes with my family and the dog and then finding a place by a roaring log fire to have dinner and a few drinks.
