REAL SITUATION /
We were introduced to the opportunity of investing in The SLC Group (formed as a result of our initial investment in Paragon) when the two founders were thinking of realising their investment. We saw the opportunity to leverage our health and social care sector experience, move into the expanding supported living sector and increase the company’s geographic presence through a buy and build strategy.
"In the last five years we have been able to build on the foundations of the original Paragon business and created a scalable, supported living business which now supports almost one thousand service users across the North and the Midlands. The supportive partnership that the SLC team has enjoyed with the ISIS team has been critical to that journey.” Charles Eggleston, CEO, SLC Group.
REAL DIFFERENCE & RESULTS
/Together, we were able to identify, fund, co-ordinate and complete a total of five acquisitions which dramatically increased the company’s client base and geographical spread. Putting the right people in place, with support from our sector experts, has meant deals have been done effectively, the client base expanded and the range of service users diversified.
- Geographical base has spread from original base in Lancashire, across the North West, West Midlands, Derbyshire and Yorkshire
- Success is based on the consistent delivery of high quality care to service users and value to local authority care commissioner
- The number of service users increased from c. 200 on investment to in excess of 900 in 2011, with the larger scale Group able to secure larger scale contracts from Local Authorities.
- Became the second largest supported living provider in the UK
